It's great that she has the right to free speech, but it makes me mad to see so many entertainers be so critical of the government. Does she really think she could do better? What do people in other countries think when they hear/see her and the Dixie Chicks saying these things? They probably think we are a bunch of wishy-washy fools who can't get behind our President....in other words, we look weak . What ever happened to United We Stand?

What the entertainment industry and it's members think or say means next to nothing to me. They appear to me to be a bunch of spoiled, overpaid blow hards with an over developed sense of self importance. Not all of them, but most. I really despair to think about the future of our nation when the people who will be running this country when I am old might have gotten their political views shaped from a paragon of virtue and sound judgement like Pink. God help us.

Just how has this Administration "greatly" altered our civil rights. Some wiretaps and detainees? Not to downplay those issues, but I live here and my life is just as good and I am just as free as I was 10 years ago. I have not been deprived of one iota of freedom directly as a result of these actions. I do read in the papers how our intelligence keeps foiling plots to victimize us on our own soil, SO SOME OF THIS MIGHT BE WORTH IT. I am educated, I follow all of this closely, and I don't fall for any of it. It's just more BS to distort the facts for a political agenda's sake.

I like Pink. I like Neil Young. I like Patti Smith. However, when these people start talking politics, it ruins this image you have of them being sophisticated and intelligent.

A couple years ago, Neil Young did some war protest song that was so childish, it seemed like something a high school kid would do.... a nerdy, untalented high school kid !

What these pampered, packaged musicians don't understand is that a President is privy to secrets that would make your jaw drop. If we knew what he knows, we probably wouldn't sleep very well at night. So when people criticize the government, we are often using very inaccurate information. There is a lot of diplomacy going on behind the scenes. Does anyone really think that Libya just decided one day to give up WMD's? No, Bush had been pressuring Gaddafi for years and finally got a big payoff.

Entertainers are also citizens who have a right and a duty to be involved (as we all do) in our government, this is what "Democracy" is based on.
Are you suggesting that if you disagree with a policy or decision that you are wishy-washy and weak?
As far as the rest of the worlds opinion.....they think we are bullies, rich, fat, and lazy.
"United We Stand" Our current administration has greatly altered our civil rights. You know, the ones so many Americans have fought and died for over the last 200 years or so.
Please, please educate your self on these topics.

well, for one, foreign countries were the first to hate Pres. Bush (believe me, i travel to Europe alot and they really had some choice words to say about him and his policies) and then when the Americans realized how he kept changing his mind over vital issues and kept making promises he couldn't keep which was when we began to hate him.
i think the song was harsh, but i agree with it. The president is so concerned aobut what is happening in Iraq that he fails to help with matters on his own front. we're gettin' poorer and poorer by the year and he sits there choking us with his own greed and personal desires. it's sickening.
we were united, before Bush came and tore that away. and i think that these entertainers are making sure that we have the chance to see how corrupt our gov't is becoming and i can definitely see Pink doing a better job as a President when compared to Bush.

Pink had something to say that comes with deep feelings. Who are you to deny her that right? Do you honestly think that songs influence people in other countrides? Wake up....we are the most hated nation on earth. We are the most hated since Nazi Germany. Half the world thinks Bush is an idiot and the other half thinks he is Satan. You stand behind him with Toby Keith who is exploiting the military to make money. The world is not blind to what is going on with Bush and any bad opinion they have of him is brought on my his reckless actions. People have the right to not agree with him. They have the right to voice that disagreement. You want everybody to play nice and pretend nothing is wrong in this country. Ain't so. This country is in dire shape thanks to your beloved president. No, I will not stand behind him because he is straight on a course to destruction.

I'm not sure she thinks she could do better, it's just her way of expressing her negative thoughts of Bush's politics, in a way that will have the effect she wants it to have.
For example, us discussing it on the Internet.

As for people in other countries - we think it takes courage and an open mind to confront your president in that way.
But if the majority thinks the way she sings it, my question is who gets him elected?!

Goes to show we've raised a bunch of idiots who have no respect for others who think or believe differently than they do.

Musicians, singers, celebrities, etc. make me laugh. The have no idea what's really going on in the world.
The sad part is that their fans think they do know what's going on.

What they think is that there is hope for us yet. Anybody who stands behind this president is a village idiot. As far as Pink doing better, anyone with a discernible pulse could do better.
