Duane Allman's solo on "Dreams" from the first Allman Brothers Band album...Dickie Bett's solo on "One Way Out" from "Eat A Peach"..or Duane Allman's solos on "Layla"..sorry to burst your bubble guys..Eric sat back a lot on that one...Not true my brother,Duane came up with the lead attack which he pilfered from an old Albert King riff and started it off..Duane did not always play slide..Jim Gordon's piano solo(see Credits) was finished by Duane..the tones are there..not diminishing from Eric's input,of course.I'm a fan, too.

Johnny Marr in "Shoplifters of the World" by The Smiths and Eric Clapton's "Layla." Both are SCORCHING.

PS - Kit, I was under the impression that Duane Allman played SLIDE guitar on that song (the long wonky outro with piano) and that Eric played the lead guitar hook. If that's the case, each really fits the style of the guitar god in question.
