There probably isn't an average, as physiologically it would depend on age. For a young man I would say 20 minutes would be normal for a proper, viable (able to ejaculate) erection.
However, a lot of it is psychological. Clear your head, talk to your partner, perhaps talk about what you just did. Eventually you will become aroused again. Don't put pressure on yourself as this is fun, not work!

There is nothing strange about that because for the evolution sex had a reproductive purpose only and the man had to stay with the pregnant girl then. Today it's different because sex is a pleasure mainly and obviously we all asked for more.
As you read above there's no fixed time for that! We aren't all equal and the "recovery time" is different because it even is a personal feature depending from some factors as age, health, excitement, etc... For the most part of young guys 15-20 min. can be a sufficient lapse but some physiologically need more (many hours even). At last, only few men are able to have two sexual acts consecutively without any pause.

This varys with age.Teens can have another in 30 minutes or less.20's and 30's a hour.It all depends on the guys sex drive
