Are you honest enough to say Israel's?

Question

Cruel and inhuman treatment of the Palestinians they have driven from their lands is an abomination and something to be condemned?

As friends shouldn't we be telling the Israelis that this is not the way a Democratic State should act?

I agree with you, but people will always try to kill any criticism of Israel by bringing up anti-Semitism. Nevermind that there are even Jews who aren't crazy about how Israel abuses Palestinians in the name of self-defence.

I agree and being honest about this situation doesn't make you an antisemitic since the Palestinians are Semites too.

The truth is Israel with the veto power of the United States is able to break several UN resolutions and continue on the path of ill-treating Palestinians.

It is sad that the very country which was established due to cruelty and inhuman treatment would practice the same.

I agree, but right now we are not in a place where we can tell another state that their actions are anything to be condemned. We are the country that originated the 'pre-emptive strike', and we are not doing so well in our treatment of POWs and civilians of other countries... So, what to do now?

A couple of years ago, there was an Israeli government official who had enough courage to compare what the Israelis are/were doing to what happened to the Jews in Hitler's Europe. Needless to say, he was browbeaten into taking his statement back - even though it was true...

I would say Israel has been abusive to the Palestinians, but I would say the same the other way around as well. Its not like a battle between good and evil.

Are you honest enough to admit that Israel belongs to the Jewish people and that the reason the Palestinians are so poor is due to the fact no one wants to invest any capital in a nation of thugs and terrorists?

With that said I do think the Israelis can at times be heavy handed but can any one actually blame them when the Palestinians murder innocents (including unarmed elderly, women and children)

And are you honest enough to answer the following question?

What is Israel supposed to do in the face of a very real threat from organizations that have declared their raison d'etre (reason for being) is the destruction of the State of Israel? What is Israel supposed to do in the face of suicide bombings? What is Israel supposed to do in the face of missiles being shot at them?
Please tell us what a democratic state is expected to do?

After all, it seems that people like you don't like ANY course of action Israel takes, no matter what.
Seal off the defacto border? Nope, not allowed.
Put up a fence or wall? Not allowed either.
Kill off Hamas terrorists? Not allowed.
Arrest them? Not allowed either.

So, what are they supposed to do? Hmmm?

Umm... no how about you look at History. Israel has bent over backwards to try to accomadate the Palestinians. With every Israeli concession the Palestinians push harder with more and more violence.
Just look at the stated goals of the parties involved:
Israel wants Peace anf the are willing to allow an Independent Palestinian State
The Palestinians want Isreal wiped of the map.
