I am looking at a new business venture in real estate. I wish to open a new agency under a brand new name, however am not personally a licensed agent.
Am I able to establish a new agency (and provide all funding and be a director), and hire a licensed real estate agent to be the principal in charge so that the agency can be legally registered?

I would also be looking at have a finance division of the business in home loan brokerage.

Cheers

You'd need a licensed broker (not an agent) to run the show at the very least. Many states would require you to be a licensed broker in your own right as the owner or director.

You would be working as an "assistant" to a realty agent. It's a fun job but it doesn't pay much. You will be learning more than you could learn in any class. You will see how the business works. The pay is $1,000 a month. You can not discuss real estate with callers. To do that, you must get your license. It cost $350 to get a license and it takes 3-12 weeks. /

Like the others have said you definitely need a broker. It depends on what state you live in order to determine how you can legally be the owner on paper. If you need a broker you can try Craig's List I've seen broker's advertising their service for a fee.

you just do not need a RE license to open an agency, you will need a broker license. you can definitely open one up and use their license but opening a business like that they have more control than you do just because you are not license.

i personally own a business, and to make sure i am on top of it i need to make sure i can do what my employees does, so they can not think i can not survive without them.

just something to ponder....
