decriminalizing- in the way that you could grow your own and not for medical reasons. Indoors and without fear of prosecution. We"re not talking heroin,....brew your own beer-microbreweries?- grow your own "herb" micro-organics- for your own use.Uncle sam is not getting his tax cut- the marijuana stamp act-anslinger- abolish it -outdated and prehistoric.at least START with decriminalization and goe from there. google the anslinger act 1933 i believe? ironic and a contradition. Education not misinformation propaganda and anti marijuana myths pushed forward to the unknowing public, to continue keeping our god given right from us. MIllions of growers and users out there while the government allows cocaine to continually flow into our borders.

I would say yes to legalizing it, however, there have to be strict rules when it comes to using and abusing it.
1. First off, selling it without a permit is illegal. But you can buy it in any licensed store, no problem.
2. It should be regulated for purity.
3. Driving while under the influence, like alcohol, should be heavily penalized. More so than it is now.
4. Keep the price easily affordable, so people don't commit crimes in order to buy it.
Making it legal will cut down crime 1000%, unburden many police offers, lawyers, judges and jury members, who are wasting precious time dealing with people who aren't really criminals.
It's almost a no brainer. Marijuana needs to be legalized. This, coming from someone who doesn't even smoke it.

I worry about mental illness being triggered from marijuana. It also concerns me that one usually smokes it. The health risks of the tobacco is a concern. I guess that if the drug was legalized then perhaps it could be prescribed, therefore, the Pharmacist can advise of effect and side effects. Yes legalize it, as long as education is offered one way or another... Alison

Definitely no because it completely warps and distorts your sense of time, dimensions and a lot of other things like velocity. An acquaintance that I used to know smoked pot now and then and his comment was that if you drive a motor vehicle after smoking pot you think you are only doing 60 km/hr when you are actually doing 120. Even if you are drunk (from alcohol) you still know the difference between 60 and 120 km/h.
So for the sake of road safety I vote no. Driving undere the influence of drugs is much more dangerous than driving under the influence of alcohol which is also very dangerous.

Legalize the use of it - it's none of the government's business what people put into their bodies. Tax it and use that money for universal health care. Grow your own pot but have a permit to sell it. If you get behind the wheel of a vehicle or you're caught shooting a gun or setting off firecrackers or showing up to work high, then you're an idiot and you'll be punished. Seems fair to me.

Yes. It should be legalized with a law similar to what is on the books in Amsterdam:
For medical purposes, and in strictly controlled locations for recreational use.
That would solve a good deal of the drug trafficking problem.
I am a strong believer in it for medical use, especially by terminal cancer patients.
But if people want to ruin their health by using it recreationally, that's none of my business. As long as they don't smoke it around me, as I am allergic.

Yes.
We have way bigger problems with other drugs than pot. I think cigarettes and alcohol are more of a problem than pot. Cigarettes do absolutely nothing but kill you while pot at least can help cancer/aids and other patients. I'm not sure why the government hasn't gotten on board with it because they could make a lot of money off of taxes. And we know how much they looooove taxes. It's the reason they wont make cigarettes illegal. It just doesn't make any sense.

in general, potheads, no worse, in some ways better, than drunks. I would worry about making worse the illegal alien problem, and the sharp spike in price and dip in availability of munchies. There'd be like a whole supermarket aisle just of mac&cheese or Ramen, in fact, why stop there, there'd probably be places where you could get all your stoner needs filled at once. I'm sure tourism would benefit, more people arriving and more weirdness to entertain them. I could go on and on, but time to fire up the rolling machine.

I vote no. Theres nothing that says marijuana is good for the body or better for your health, or it would already be legalized.
