Neither. Media thinks we are all idiots and want to watch that idiotic drivel. Who really cares about Anna Nichol Smith or what Lindsay did last night? Are they really newsworthy? Who makes that decision? The media pumps stuff up to make it sensational and the seller of news instead of good informative reporting on issues we all need to know about. Does anyone care we are doing ourselves in? Hello. . .anyone home out there?

Media is a mirror of the society. The incidents and events taking place in the society are reflected by media. But media is nothing but a group of people again. So their opinions, ideas, education and emotions will have an impact on the things being published or reported. sometimes they may be genuine but other times the reports or articles may be biased. Media has a vital social responsibility. It should project the things in the right perspective.

Media is a powerful tool.It can do wonders and blunders depending on who operates it.
Since media is recent development compared to society
obviously it is the duty of media to tell truths about society without its colors.Wrong presentatation of facts influences people and society to some extent.Repeated wrong presentation may badly influence society.Remember Goebels of Germany, and the present western media. They
present that whatever west is doing is right and others are wrong and not civilised.Media barons are the worst fellows when it comes to their selfishness.

a bit of both. perceptions of New York for example no matter how false and even known intellectually to be so still the image of the mugger is held in the minds eye. muggers equate with new york not The Metro Politan Museum.movie perpetuate image of muggers in black leather jacketts with switch blades saying things like''slice 'n dice'' or ''give me your wallet and your watch'' newspaper stories of people robbed at gunpoint.doesn't encourage a person to visit though these things happen other cities for some reason NewYork is focused on. kind of makes you wish it was known for it's pizza or something touristy.maybe someone dressed up as one or men inblack leather jacketts slicing up a pizza after saying ''slice,n dice'' a sort of night theme attraction. maybe it woul make it less so hope this humour was acceptable.i think if more humour was found in society the media might reflect it back onto society.sure it is grim but laughing allows us to lose stress and keeps us sane.

Both society and media are irresponsible forums in India. We see our own image in the 'mirror' of the media.
