Additionally, all observations that have been made about the shape of the earth have shown it to be spherical. Satellite photography, observations by astronauts, circumnavigation by plane and boat, and others have all mutually confirmed its sphericality. A spherical earth also works with the theories of physics, i.e. if the world were flat, then the predictions made using certain theories be incorrect. Instead, the predictions do hold true to a very high standard of accuracy and precision, and thus it is likely that those theories, which depend on the existence of a near-spherical planet, are correct. Etc..... see the first link
NY Times:
Scientists Chip Away at Mysteries of the Moon. Ironic, that the question is not “Why is the Earth flat?” but “Why is the Moon flat?” --- see the second link
I hope this helps. :)

earth is not flat...maybe, you thought of the reason that you are standing but you don't fall, or slide or something...it's shape is oblate spheroid...
***The Earth's shape is very close to an oblate spheroid—a rounded shape with a bulge around the equator—although the precise shape (the geoid) varies from this by up to 100 metres (327 ft).[17] The average diameter of the reference spheroid is about 12,742 km (7,913 mi). More approximately the distance is 40,000 km/π because the metre was originally defined as 1/10,000,000 of the distance from the equator to the north pole through Paris, France.[18]
The rotation of the Earth creates the equatorial bulge so that the equatorial diameter is 43 km (27 mi) larger than the pole to pole diameter. The largest local deviations in the rocky surface of the Earth are Mount Everest (8,848 m [29,028 ft] above local sea level) and the Mariana Trench (10,911 m [35,798 ft] below local sea level). Hence compared to a perfect ellipsoid, the Earth has a tolerance of about one part in about 584, or 0.17%, which is less than the 0.22% tolerance allowed in billiard balls. Because of the bulge, the feature farthest from the center of the Earth is actually Mount Chimborazo in Ecuador.
i think you should read the article on this site:

The earth is only locally flat! The earth is so much more bigger than you! If you go up the sky, you can see the earth's curvature. That is because you see a wider portion of earth. But here on the ground, you can't see much of the earth because you have a smaller coverage.

It appears flat because of how large it is. If it truly were flat, you could see the sky 1000 miles away. IF we were MUCH larger beings it wouldn't appear to be so flat I don't think. If it were smaller it would look less flat. Kinda cool how gravity keeps us on this thing, people, water, everything and even if we are on the bottom we don't fall off or feel different.

Why are you asking this question? If you actually believe the earth is flat, then you also believe that it is because God made it that way and there is no point in asking why. Are you a troll?

You are so tiny that from your perspective you are only looking at 1 thousandth of a degree for most of you observations when compared to the size of the Earth. Humans cannot see detail in that great of clarity.

It's flat for many of us because we'll never travel all the way around it. Does a round planet really affect most of our lives?
It all depends on our needs.
