What if the aliens feel that they're so smarter than us that they could kill us at will without a second thought like we do bugs.
I stopped an ant infestation by continuously attracting them with food and killing them when they came out, should i feel guilty?
Would any animal let you in his dwelling?
If it is wrong to kill bugs how do we reconcile with shoes, belts, hot dogs, meat lovers pizzas, laundry detergent, pork chops, scrambled eggs, footballs as all these things are made from dead animals? Hmm.

A noble sentiment but you probably kill many insects just walking from A to B every day. If uber-intelligent aliens did come from another planet with the intention of wiping us out, then it wouldn't bother me. We probably deserve to be wiped out at this stage.

It all depends on a person's perspective, and what their intentions are in killing an insect. If we value, and respect all living things, especially human beings, we will not kill. Many religions commandments say, "Thou Shall Not Kill.", but it does not say "Thou Shall Not kill human beings only." So it depends on a person's perspective. In Buddhism, Buddhists, and/or Students of Buddhism do their best to never kill any insects because they value all life (it has nothing to do with rebirth or reincarnation). All Life is Sacred, and valuable and precious Buddhists believe that if we can so easily kill insects with wrong intent, than next we will be killing animals, then possibly people, who may not think exactly the same as us. Prudence and Wisdom must also be highly considered. And this is the Buddhist philosophy: ie., if there is an insect that carries a very harmful, or especially a deadly disease which could cause death, then of course one would have to kill it, if it is impossible to safely set it free. One would not allow his or her spouse or children to be threatened with death. But in most cases these situations are rare. Hindu's and Buddhists do use and practice there common sense. Why are you asking such a question ? Again, we must always look at the thoughts and intents of our hearts and minds, before killing an insect. If WE do not value the sacredness of life, what is to say that we won't - down the road, willfully kill a bear, a dear, and eventually willfully kill another human being ? I Highly respect the advice of Buddhism which teaches "Do No Harm to any living thing."

You may have a family or have "rights" but if the lion is hungry your going to be eaten it's the law of nature.

So to answer your question no you should not feel guilty for killing something that can bring nourishment.

I do not think it is wrong. Watch out for the activist on here. I mentioned that I shot a poisonous snake in my yard and I am STILL getting at least four e mails a day about it! We are human beings and if a insect is getting on your nerves squash it, stomp it, spray it, whatever you have to do.

I think it is wrong to kill them for no reason. It also reflects badly on your character.
