Technology and Science are full of former "imaginary" things which have become real. Da Vinci conceived of the helicopter, among other things, 100s of years before it became "real". It's a pity that some others answering this question accept "imaginary" as a permanent state.
Right now there are probably quite a few folks out there with "imaginary" items in their heads which will one day become "real" - as well as the imaginary billions in their bank accounts.

Yes. Belief makes anything real - to the believer. A group of people who believe in the same entity, called Choronzon, have had it transmit messages to them without their having contacted each other, had me walk in another's dream and see the colour and look of the floor of his house never having seen it or a picture of it. But is Choronzon real in the way that, say, the computer in front of me is? No.
There are dual reality matrices. Reality A is Consensus, B is Subjective. Some people say Universe B; I was amazed that this duality, which I'd thought I was the only one to experience, was picked up by others. Subjective reality can cause consensual hallucination which for all intents and purposes is "real" if the people believe it is more than a hallucination. But in Reality A it is a projection, imagined, of a xenodimensional intelligence, what would be called a demon or angel but it is neither good or evil, though is definitely good in my eyes, might be considered evil in others.
Choronzon is supposed to be evil, according to the Thelemites, but my experience of the thing is very different. It even seemed to save my life. I am at a loss to define how real the thing is, there may be a gradient between consensus and subjective realities, not a thin line, dividing them cleanly.
There's a murky line between A and B and that's where all the really interesting stuff happens!

well....we assume that reality and imagination are seperate realms, however, a person with an imagination can manipulate the 'real' world into something that is more akin to their imagination.
It's sort of how we have air conditioning. such technology USED to be imaginary, but now it's real.
