In 2009, a movie is slated to be released based on Jack Kerouac's book "On The Road". Who in your opinion would best portray Jack Kerouac on the big screen? My vote goes to Ed Harris. Who would you vote for?

I think Clive Owen could pull it off. I know he's a Brit, but I'm pretty sure he could do a convincing American accent. He's got that rugged thing going on, he projects intelligence, and he can ACT.

BTW, I agree with those who said Ed Harris is a bit old for it now. He would have been perfect 20 years ago, though!

Ed Harris would be good, but technically I think he's a bit too old now for the part. I'd go with Ed Norton since he is very versatile and has a certain toughness that is subtle but focused. His talent would be able to transform his physical appearance into that of Kerouac even though he doesn't look like him.

John Garfield, but he's as dead as Kerouac. Failing that, Kevin Spacey. Given production time, if the movie is to be released in 2009 one would assume that an actor has already been selected.

Thats so funny. I didnt realize you posted this right before I posted mine about Kerouac. I think that it would be good to cast an unknown actor. Someone famous might be unbelievable.

Interesting question. I think I'd go with Brad Pitt for Neil Cassidy. It would take some makeup, but Brad plays wackos pretty well. Pax - C
