What is the difference between membrane irratibility and membrane conductivity?

Irritability is the "basic property of protoplasm that enables a cell to respond to a stimulus". However, the conductivity of a membrane is its ability to conduct electricity. It generally depends on the types of channels the membrane has, their opening and closing properties and how many ions (charged particles) can move through it per unit time (thus, amperes, which is charge per second).
