Do mets fans think like other fans about Shea Stadium being a dumpt. Shea Stadium and Dodger Stadium were built in the same year, yet Dodger fans me included think Dodger Stadium is great.

Shea is on its last legs. new one under construction.
It was a fun palce for me to go for many years but it did lack a lot of the advantages of other ball parks. It was made fast don not forget the Mets were in the Polo Grounds that was like a 1900 consturction job. It was a horseshoe construction. Go look at it one day on a web site.
So Shea was a functiona place Not a dump but not a palace

The Mets played in the Polo Grounds in '62 and '63, and Shea Stadium was state-of-the-art in 1964; it had the forst electronic scoreboard. Shea Stadium served its purpose and was home to the 2 World Championships; and it'll be hard to replace.

Shea Stadium sucks. Of course, Yankee Stadium smells like urine so what's that line about people in glass houses??
