Yes definitely my dad has a Yamaha 1100 and considers it a classic.Look at how much bikes have changed in the last 16 years I think the ducati 916 can be considered a classic.

no, not a classic. Nice bike maybe, but not a classic.
For some reason bikes don't have classics the same as cars. I think it's two reasons. One, sport bikes are all about newer, faster, better. So why get an older one. Two, Cruisers really haven't changed all that much over the years, so there isn't the same nostalgia, you can get a new bike that looks almost the same as one that's 30 years old.

Not classic for selling, but definitely a classic bike.
Had a customer with 220,00 miles on his ( he worked as a courier)
Somewhat heavy but reasonably quick ( around 150mph) and very understressed.
1100 had a second gear issue but that was fixed under warranty and the 1200 had stronger parts stock
very good sport tourer, wide and comfy and not a Goldwing

"classic"? no. Darn good bike? if you like that styling. It is however a very sought after machine so you should have no problem selling it. If your thinking about buying it, my brother put 80K miles on his with nothing...he didn't even treat it nice just fluid changes. My dad put another 10 on it before trading it off. My not so computer friendly friend sitting here says "rice burners and crotch rockets are for metrosexuals" (he didn't say metrosexual, he doesn't know what that means, I substituted it for what he said.) But he goes on to say that if he had to ride one of those metrosexual-bikes, fj1200 would be it.

No. You have to wait until it's 25 years old until it's considered a classic.
