If the rash is on your skin, hydrocortisone cream or ointment works the best. If it doesn't get better with what you can buy in the drugstore, you can go to the doctor and get a stronger kind.

First of all, you should try to figure out what caused the rash in the first place.

If your skin is not broken (open, weepy) you can try some Eucerin cream on it. It does not have any additives in it that will make your skin more inflamed. A lot of lotions and creams have preservatives and fragrances added to them that will make your skin more irritated. You can buy Eucerin in the pharmacy section of a grocery store. If your rash doesn't improve in the next 24 hours, get checked by a dermatologist.

It depends where that rash is and what caused it? I use hydrocortisone cream on rashes that are caused by allergies. I use a medicated powder like gold bond on heat rashes.
