I have never herd of a 1888 buffalo head wheat penny what you have is a 1888 Indian head penny wheat pennies were not minted till 1909 buffalo head nickles weren't minted till 1915 as for auctioning the coin off you would NOT make any money your coin is only worth 5 to 10 dollars so if you auctioned it off it would take time out of your life to auction the coin plus you would have to cut a percent of the money you got for your coin with the auctioneer so at most you would make like maybe a dollar try selling it to a pawn broker or just put it up and give it to one of your kids one day it will probably take a couple hundred years for it to be worth a lot of money

A penny saved is a penny earned.
Some may be worth a penny and some could be worth more. You will need to research the dates to see if there were any misprinted or something.
Maybe this link work, around .50-$1
