Yes, 2 cycle and 2 stroke are the same thing. check to see if your dirtbike has a 2 stroke oil injector, most modern 2 stroke bikes have a resevoir of 2 stroke oil that is automatically injected into the carbs and cylinders eliminating the need to mix it yourself with each fill up of your gas tank.

Many people use 2 cycle oil on a regular basis as an upper cylinder lubricant which is lacking in ethanol fuels. The most common dilution rate is one ounce per five gallons of gasoline. That's 640:1.

Use quality brand name 2 cycle (2 stroke) oil made specifically for motorcycles.
Don't use junk from the hardware store.
That crap is used in chain saws and weed whackers.
It won't burn properly and foul the spark plug + won't lubricate the engine properly.
