Eating or taking mushrooms does not hurt you mentally or physically? How is that even possible when the effect of the drug messes with your brain. I don't get it! HELP!!!

It does sometimes. It's called hallucinogen persisting perception disorder, thats when a person gets a flashback of when they were on the drug and it's usually flashbacked to the part of them freaking out on the drug. But if that doesn't happen, which it is pretty rare to have that happen, there have been studies and people actually are in better mental health far after taking them. Any drug that works on your central nervous system is potentially damaging. Of course not everyone is affected the same way,but there is always the chance of a severe reaction to a controlled substance depending on the dosage taken and the reaction the drug has on the individual. Another problem is that since mushrooms usually grow wild there is a question of the variations in potency from one mushroom to another. There is always a risk of accidentally overdosing.

Mushrooms are not drugs. They are fungi. Giant overgrown microbial colonies.
