Make sure you have all the necessary parts lay out.
1. Plug in the cat5 (the connector or plug is bigger than the phone plug) into the cable modem (the one provided by your telphone company). The phone plug (the cable that runs from your telephone jack) into, also the back of the cable modem. Plug in the power cord. Power it up by plugging into the power strip/outlet.

2. Plug in the cat5 from the cable modem to the back of router, make sure you plug into the slot that says WAN or Internet, then plug in the another cat5 cable to one of the available slots and this cat5 cable, the end of that you need to plug into the back of your pc. Power up the router.

3. The phone company should also provide you with a disk, insert that and follow the instructions.

4. You should be able to connect to internet. Another thing is you might want to setup your router, just follow the instructions that comes with the router (especially if you are going to do wireless, you need to setup security on your wireless).

5. Lastly, you need to put the phone filter into your phone jack which your phone is hooked up into.

Hope this helps!

u should be able to hook up either ethernet cable or usb cable.your main phone line should connect into the back of the modem. then u can plug an eithernet cable from the back of the modem to the router usually in slot 1 on your router. Then u can plug another eithernet cable into the back of the router any other slot should work and the other end of that into the back of your computer. or u can always get one long phone cord plug that into the back of your modem and into the back of your computer if u have a phone modem. Best of luck
