Make it personal and emotional.

For example:

"It's 2am. My eyes in the mirror are red, with dark circles underneath. I'm exhausted. I have to keep reminding myself what I'm working on. Did I procrastinate too much? I wish. Band practice after school. Chores at home. Help my little sister with her homework because Mom's too tired and Dad's still at work. Set the table for dinner. Wash up while Mom gives my sister a bath. Math homework. Practice the flute for an hour. Research that essay about ancient Rome. Finally my persuasive essay. What was my topic? Oh yeah. Why we need more free time."

Have fun!

well as a backing up reason. usually by the last or last 2periods children are worn out and not taking in much in those classes. its a waste of time to even have them there. being taught 7-8 different subjects a day for what -7hours? is too much.
also i dont understand why kids lifes have to be defined by school. like theres nuthing else they could be doing. its like 75% of their lifes until they graudate. too much time in school, not enough time just living i say

Today it is hard for people to find free time. As we pursue academic studies and then careers. The hope of this essay is to try to show the reader the need for a balance of adult goals and free time.

"Then just leave the rest blank"! ;-p

Start off by asking the question "What would you do if you had more free time?"
Would you spend that extra time with your family? Traveling? Doing volunteer work?
Or would you waste it watching TV? ETC.

Unless you got this assignment today, you have already wasted much free time, perhaps you don't really need more.
