I am interested on getting a breast reduction. I want to know what are good signs to get my insurance to pay for it. My breast are extremely large, heavy, and one of my breast is even larger then the other. I have some blisters on them and sometimes they hurt. Sometimes even my nipples feel like they are about to break off. Sometimes i have back pain, but not all the time. Am I a good candidate for a breast reduction. I get different answers all the time. Im suppose to be going to the doctor so he can see. But i dont want him to find excuses to tell me to ignore this issue. So please tell me would my doctor acknowledge this problem or do you think he will just say "thers nothing wrong, just lose some weight"? Or what do i need to say to persuade him to recommend a surgery for me? If he denies me, should i threaten to file a lawsuit to scare him?

Well, different sized breasts are actually normal.

Back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, grooves in the shoulders and rashes under your breasts are good indications that a breast reduction will be beneficial to you.

Make sure you see at least THREE plastic surgeons before choosing the one you want to do the surgery.

SOME insurance companies are really picky. They want documentation or for you to lose weight. FYI My insurance company did not need any of that. IMO if you are huge (bigger than a DDD) you should have no problems getting covered.

And if you get denied, APPEAL!

Do not threaten a lawsuit, that's just silly. Get a second or even a third opinion if the doctor does not agree with you.

You didn't say what size you are.

Pain of any sort (either from friction or weight, and it sounds like you have both) is a very good reason to get a reduction.

Have a doctor inspect your blisters and submit a letter to your insurance company. You may also want to have a chiropractor check you out and do the same.

I was told that in order for you insurance to cover the cost, you would need a documented account of symptoms, like back ache stemming directly from them being too large.

Don't threaten him. Just ask him what you need to do in order to get the surgery covered.

Oh yeah, I've been contemplating breast reduction for 20 years.

Breast reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
