I know I've already asked this question.
My family here in Kentucky always told me about how awful and decrepit ATL was, and I was actually expecting that. Boy, was I PLEASANTLY surprised!
You could spend months pursuing all of ATL's options in eclectic dining, shopping, nightlife, entertainment, arts, culture, and parks and recreation. All of it without breaking the pocket book. Did I mention the mass of beeeautiful women?!
I also found ATL (the natives anyway) to be MUCH friendlier than Kentuckians. That surprised me too.
In short, I really wanted to stay in ATL, but now all I can do is save up and wait some other time to visit.

I went down to ATL for a Spring Break trip. I wanted to go South, but ATL was my absolute last choice. But I went, and I'm SO glad I kept an open mind, because I really grew to like the area.

ATL is a great city. It has its pluses and minuses like every other city, but it really is a cool place to spend some time. Great clubs, great bands, great shows, great hotels, great shopping....tons of great things. Maybe ATL seems like some huge metropolitan city ridden with crime to your folks...that is compared to what may be a more simple city in which they live now in Kentucky. Im glad you were able to visit and see for yourself what a fun place it is.

Your reasoning is very well thought out; however I couldn't care less about the hitting coach situation in Atlanta. I dislike the Braves fans simply for the Tomahawk Chop. I don't care if it's offensive to Native Americans or not, it's simply a retarded thing to do, that's annoying as hell to 9/10's of the league.

Sad to say...I live only 11/2hr. drive away and never been there. I*m not a big city person. Birmingham Alabama petrifies me, and ATL is even larger. I would like to visit with others, but not alone. So glad that you were able to visit and decide for yourself the pros and cons of the city. Ofttimes we let other*s opinions cloud our own,

A magnificent place, I've lived there several times and wish I could be there now. It's getting a bit crowded due to all the migration but still a grerat place to live.

Atlanta is a very nice place to visit, I wouldn't want to live there, too busy for my blood. I cringe every time we drive through. But, there are many great attractions, so it would be a good vacation spot.

Atlanta, Georgia is a very beautiful place. I live near it, but I've only been up there a couple times. The sites up there are amazing.

I liked Atlanta. Hated delivering cargo to the bulk mail plant there. Scary place at two in the morning.
