That seems to be the case - what we would have thought were flashbacks were actually flash forwards to the time after everyone was taken off the island. Apparently, Jack now agrees with Ben that their rescue was a mistake. Not sure how this will play out next season, and wish I didn't have to wait until January to find out!

Yes it is a flash forward.

Notice Jack saying to Kate "we need to go back".

Notice the Razr Jack is using that was not made prior to the crash of 815.

If it was a flash back why would Kate and Jack have acted like strangers on the island?

Logic indicates its a flash forward.

I think the flash forward was the black smoke. It has shown people things in the past, Kate the horse, Jack his dad. I think that it showed Jack what could be a possible future.

The black smoke looks in your soul pretty much and reads your mind to project things. I think now it has seen what is in him, and shown him a future based on his life events.
