I just looked outside, its there...*whew* - it was a full moon 2 nights ago (a blue moon actually - the 2nd full moon in one month) - but now it is just a waning gibbous...
The USA cant even blow up the moon. In theory, we would have to put all of our nuclear warheads deep inside it... the problem there is the cost of drilling and transporting them. Also the bombs would have to be completely redesigned to work in zero gravity and zero atmosphere. But I still dont think we would have enough to blow it up.... maybe knock a chunk of it off....

The main question would be... why would they...?

I couldn't help chuckling a bit when I tried to figure out why any country would *want* to blow up the moon, not that they could. What, does North Korea have more than its share of deep sky amateur astronomers? Now that might make sense.

It doesn't look like it. Maybe they did, and just put a cardboard cutout that looks like the moon up there, and what we're seeing is just a fake moon. Yeah, that must be it.

I don't think so. Unless you're meaning "the moon" in a figurative sense, in which case I think it's up to you. :)
