in fact, was the german army responsible for killing people that crossed the wall. was it easier to cross from the east to west or west to east?
in the end, did the berlin wall do more harm than good? was it anyway POSSIBLE that the wall could have never been built. i've seen pictures of the wall. it's ugly and is laced with horrible graffiti..........

The Soviet Union ended and the city of Berlin was no longer divided between East Germany and West Germany. Therefore, the Berlin Wall was knocked down.

Yes, there were people who made it across the wall, but many also got shot. And yes, the Berlin wall did more harm than good (I don't think it did any good) It seperated families and turned East Germany into a prison from which people tried to "escape."

Was it possible for the wall to never have been built. Certainly.

Just like it was possible the US and Britain along with any remaining factions that were willing could have pushed Russia back to Russia rather than putting up with a cold war for the next 50 years.

.he wall was responsible for killings of Innocent people who wanted to go to west Germany. My grandmother is a survivor/ When her parents were taken to be killed by Hitler, they gave my mother to a couple from Germany over the wall. It was horrible experience for a lot of people.
