mhm....bad parenting is one reason. The other reason would most likely be....greed. just being greedy is one reason why people are selfish. They want it all to themselves. The joy of having something and wanting more of it. Truth be told.....it just depends....on the person. There are those who has parents that suck and dont teach their kids much......yet sometimes the child or chuildren can still grow to be loving caring people.

There are three primary reasons 1)Its a basic survival instinct, I mean sometimes it becomes a world where only survival of the fittest is the way to go,so in such cases he has to think only about himself and not the society 2)Hatred towards the society, where the person has suffered a lot because of the society and hates them to the core..He then starts to stamp others and treat then like objects. But all this is just a defense mechanism to compensate for what he suffered 3)When he has too much of ego and a massive chip above his shoulders that he is too obsessed with himself that others hold no value to him

Not growing up with a sibling that one had the learn to share with or just not having any manners.
Selfish people usually in the end, have no friends. It is always about them.
I recommend to all selfish people, the movie "Pay it Forward". Live and learn...

Maybe because they grew up with getting everything they wanted and were never told to share their things. It could just be their personality, selfish people can get quite far in life if they are ambitious because they don't care for what other people want only what they want. So they could selfish because they are TOO ambitious.

All that comes to my mind, is a person that has a bad case of the BIG "I" and the little "u" (you). Or I always come first, no one is as important as I am.

someone who has never learned the true meaning of giving or sharing, someone who has never experienced earning something on their own and how good it feels to give of their selves or their honest love or time, one where you don't expect anything in return.
