I speak a lot less German than I did when I was fresh out of five years of study. Is that a skill?
I certainly can't roller skate like I did 30 years ago.
I really don't know if I could still ride a bike. I can still touch my toes, tho - cause I do it every day.

Yes, after a few tries I can do anything I did before; ride a bike, rollar skate, ice skate, play jacks, marbles, sled down a hill, go down a water slide, etc. I'll be 60 yrs old this month.

Yes I do think that however it doesn't work as well with languages. I lost a lot of the French I took in high school and college because I don't use it.

Skills that are purely mechanical tend to stay with you. However, more complex skills require honing. They have to be dynamic, not static.

No rosey. Auto mechanics have to refresh all the time due to major changes in autos from year to year. So my answer to your question would be no.

No...you can cook mac and cheese one day, wait a year, and then the next time you cook mac and cheese you burn yourself on the stove and never want to cook it again
