I really do not understand. I personally love arena football, every time it is on ESPN I watch the game. Unfortianly, I have never been to an arena football game because I live in a city without a team. The AFL is a "fans league" this means that ticket prices are low and made for the fans. Like I said I never have been to a game. But I have heard it is a great atmosphere. But hopefully I one day Pittsburgh will get a team. If that happens I will be a proud season ticket holders.

Maybe most people feel like I do and just don't care for such fast paced, near void of strategy games. However, they do kind of remind me of the games we would play in the neighborhood as kids. Like playing in two yards that joined together, the driveways at each end were the end zones. I would rather play that than watch other grown men do it.
I see the score reports sroll across sometimes and it seems like a joke, 70-65, QB throws 8 touchdowns, etc...
But might be fun to take my 5 yr old, he would care less about the game, but would probably go for the excited atmosphere as long as daddy buys the cotton candy or snow cones.

The majority of football fans don't see it as a real league to be appreciated apart from the NFL. I think that most of us look at the rosters and see players that obviously would rather be in the NFL but have one or two exploitable weaknesses that keep them from playing at that level.
The same goes for the World League and the CFL... the NFL has such a stranglehold on the sport of football in this country that we just don't really see the talent there in the AFL... for every Kurt Warner there are 100 guys that should focus on getting a job with UPS or something.

Good question! I've been to a couple and had a great time.
I just think there are to many things for us to spend our money on in this country. Arena football is like double A baseball, hard to draw fans. My budget this year is going toward traveling a bit and going to a MLB game. It will cost me more then going to 2 or 3 arena games. I hope my kids appreciate it!

I went to one. I didn't much care for the style of game. Wouldn't really call it football. Reminded me of the old 7 on 7 games we use to play on the playground, no defense, no strategy, very little running game. It got rather boring after the first quarter.

arena football is a lot different from traditional football and if you are used to the NFL, the arena league can be very boring.

because every one is to focused on the nfl and the arena football might be more popular if sports center and other shows on espn gave it more attention

Most people think it is silly! They don't give it a chance. I guess it would be cool for entertainment affordability.
