Could have been any of a lot of reasons. Did you know that chickens eat stones to grind up their food in their belly. Maby there were no stones on this side of the road. Also another option would be. If a chicken can't roost off the ground it is not happy. If it is not happy it won't lay eggs. That's why you all ways see a chicken or rooster on the top of the barn. Even if they just get to sit on a upside down bucket they are happy with that enough to lay. So it may have seen a sweet looking perch on the other side of the road. Ha, I bet you didn't expect this for a response hey.

Because the grass is always greener on the other side,and its also where you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink,and while on the other side it met an old dog who learned a new trick.This is why it crossed the road.

careful ritefielder.....I actually received a violation because I referred to a question as "inane"....LOL.....of course it only exposed the person who complained as the loser that they are.
I'm expecting a violation for calling somebody a loser even though nobody has any idea whom I'm referring too....LOL.
