Never!!
The liberal politicians make surrender the core of their campaign. They are the party of surrender of losing.
Our enemy sees our weakness from the war in Viet Nam and the Somalia retreat (blackhawk down). Well if we give up
They will carve up Iraq between Syria and Iran. Take over Jordan and Lebanon and annihilate Israel.
These haters of the US have come to fight us in Afghanistan and Iraq and they are being slaughtered by the West and the Iraqis. If we just left they would just follow us here for more terrorist attacks.
If we defeat them or kill enough for their retreat it will take 30 to 50 years before they will be able to revive themselves and indoctrinate a new group of youth to kill themselves.
I am a Viet Nam veteran and old hippy. What we are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan is our only path to a long lasting security. Our enemy only respects one thing and that is force.
It has nothing to do with religion. It has to do with evil. Evil much like Stalin, Hitler etc, evil people.

It's not a matter of giving up but realizing a terrible choice of following blindly and being lead by corrupt politics and the agenda of profiteering corporations. Encouraged by the religious right these mogul monsters have created havoc and damaged international relations worldwide. Paid for by the average American monetarily, and the service personnel in blood, this administration has fleeced America and caused damages that will be reaped with interest. The Democrats have done little better and betrayed voters by supporting the war and rejecting a "timeline" for withdrawing from this debacle. Both parties, Fascist and Fascist Lite, have grown stale, greedy and complacent in their audacity. Our only solution is to vote them out and bring in a fresh third party that will give ear and recognize the US citizen as a living and breathing entity rather than a numerical statistic.

No, I don't think the United States will give up the fight in Iraq.
Even if a Democrat gets elected.
Yes, we should be spending more on trying to secure the borders from illegal entry by anyone.
No, more people are getting killed that are not in our military.
Sometimes we overlook the same people we are trying to save. The cost of lives to the civilians and also the "terrorist" must be quite high..as well it should be concerning the terrorist..but I would like to know the figures of how many of these terrorist are either killed or handicapped for life..I don't think they have the medical treatment that can compare with the United States or its allies..few that they are...
I think this war will go on and on for many years..but I too am hoping I am wrong. We can all pray for the real victims of this "endless war"..the children....God Bless them all

The war in Iraq has long since been won. The lack of history being taught in our schools is demonstrated in the knowledge of and for the need to defend victory. Each any every conflict, throughout history (other than Vietnam), there has been a lasting military need to defend victory. In our own civil war it was called Reconstruction, but don't think for a second that it was any less violent. After WW2 it was called Clean Up operations.
The number of political murders that followed our withdraw from the Democrat engaged Vietnam conflict was around 3,000,000, lets don't repeat that mistake.

I think so...not Bush, of course, but I don't think that a lot of Americans are eager to continue with this war. If a democrat like Hilary Clinton gets elected, the war will definitely end. However, if we leave, another dictator like Saddam Hussein could take over, and we'd have to go back anyway. In my opinion, we should stay until things are a lot more stable.

Yes, the US as a whole is ready to give up the fight in Iraq but BUSH is not.
This is a fight that cannot be won. We are creating more enemies all over the world as a result of Bush's reckless actions.

Time will tell what "won" or "lost" really means. Frankly, with the most recent news of the Sunnis taking up arms against Al-Quaida - things may be looking up.
We will, however, loose more troops. :-( And many more civilians will undoubtedly die as well.

I hope not or else get ready for the next attack since our enemies will know that the left wing cowards run our country now and the US military isnt a threat to them anymore.
