Bill Gates has stepped down as CEO or whatever from Microsoft but he is still involved. He is doing more with the non-profit that he and his wife, Melinda, run.

It is called the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and focuses on much more than just AIDS. They also do alot for schools in the U.S. and for local non-profits in Washington state.

The Foundation gives an award called The Gates Award for Global Health with $1 million. This year's winner was the Population and Community Development Association in Thailand. It's a great group.

But he has found a new hobby; eliminating malaria from the earth.
He is a man of great enthusiasm and focus. First he did software, and nothing else entered his mind.
Then he met Melinda and started a family; it was a total revelation to him! Family life!
Then he discovered helping others: Philanthropy! Another new discovery! So now he's heading up research to eliminate health problem!
No, he didn't donate his holdings; he still runs things.

Just a little bit of effort on your part would get you the answer. You must not get around too much.

You've obviously heard something somewhere that's sorta kinda truthy. Can't you think of a way to look into it some more?

He gives vast amounts of money to various charities.

I don't think he'd ever give up his business....he loves it too much.
