If you don't like the idea of a baseball bat try using some free adware/spyware software.

Spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html)

Lavasoft (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) click on free download.

Good luck in a non-counterfeit world.

cheers

...That's a loaded question. All reports indicate that all USA software has chronically been from 30 to 40 percent counterfeit - see Software Business Alliance that takes reports and action on counterfeit software. This is a pool of representatives from all major software vendors in America and they have not made a dent yet. What can you do ? I think that is obvious.... make a report - and that is about it, but be assured they will act upon it and that is what is needed - reports !

Microsoft has just completed a sting operation with Federal Authorities in the USA a couple months ago netting over 60 Million counterfeit copies of the Windows XP Operating System. Wholesale arrests and damages were sought and awarded. They have this part of counterfeiting well under control and have Russian Authorities involved overseas co-operating.

...that's a real loaded comment. This is a pure non-sensical statement - forget it - and get off the drugs !

Well "PC" is a Windows Computer and a Microsoft product only, that runs Windows so that if you have a "pc" you do have a Microsoft product and you are on Windows - so that if you don't have this, then how do you have counterfeit software on a PC with Microsoft Windows attacking you and saying you don't ?

Either you are on drugs messing with people here, or you are intentionally "spoofing" this Messaage Board with non-sensical fantasy problems that do not exist....

OR - you are or have attempted to say that you are getting the Microsoft Windows Genuine Validation messages concerning a piracy copy of Windows is running on your computer.

Read this about a fake ransomware that does this:
New malware poses as WGA validation and notification
Posted on: 6/29/2006 12:41:35 PM EST
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Spyware/?p=838
A new piece of very nasty malware has been recently discovered on spyware help forums, first here and again here. The file name is wgavn.exe and it creates a
service named "Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Notification", ....

So it actually sounds like you may be getting a false postive from Microsoft (a few have occurred) or you may have a ransomware infection by a fake program and DON'T click it.

I am not going to play with this further because many, many people intentionally will answer spam and intentionally buy cheap Windows XP counterfeit copies cheap and end up in all kinds of trouble and security software does not work and they are screwed and deserve it.

If you are a proper person with a respect for computers and the community of users - you have a couple of serious issues you need to deal with immediately. You need to register your computer with Microsoft and your Manufacturer immedaitely. You need to get to Windows Update and fully patch your machine - but you are not going to be able to do that until your computer is registered. This is not a game. It is a world network and every personal computer is a guest on their networks. They don't like clowns and hate crimeware and clowns that buy it. If you were screwed by some clown that pre-loaded a counterfeit copy of Windows - you get to Microsoft.com / Piracy and on the phone and report it immediately and get the bastard busted that sold it to you -taking advantage of you for a fifty dollar bill. Microsoft does have an exchange program to get you a legal Windows Operating System.

I would say if this is the case, some criminals have made a zombie, out of your pc. (hijacked). Suggest you reformat your system.

Actually it would help a great deal if you were more indepth as to how you know that conterfeiting of software is being performed and this knowledge appears on your pc.

You can run an online scanner from the servers of Kaspersky Russia. Rated # 1 in antivirus detection. Will not conflict with your current antivirus program if you have one.

http://www.kaspersky.com/remoteviruschk.html

You can emal me with more indepth info., an I will do my best to resolve your problem. Especially if you believe you are a victim, of a crime.
