My wife has MS. The doctors have siad she can carry a baby if she goes off her medication.
What is interesting is the times we have had her off of it , her periods are extremely heavy and bright red and the perids go on for 2 weeks with 2 days heavy and then spotting for the other 12 days.
What is going on?
I need some help answering these cause her doctors don't seem to give straight answers and dance around the issue.
Also, on about 3 occasions, she goes 2 weeks past her period, and we do not buy a test fearing a false alarm. then all of a sudden she gets really bright blood and some tissue falls into the toilet.
please help!!!!!!!!!!! I need to understand what is going on as I a husband who wants a family I want to understands my wife' s health so i can protect it.

I suggest you first buy a pregnancy test to make sure she is or isn't pregnant.

At a few weeks, a baby (embryo) would be very small, about the size of a marble. So it's likely that the tissue you have described is actually large blood clots (scary in some cases but not usually an indication of trouble). In other words, there is little chance that you would see the embryo or hear it falling into the toilet. The tiny fluid-filled sac (which is clear and looks like a bubble with a thick skin) would probably burst, leaving only a tiny remnant, not anything like tissue.
However, if you or your wife feel that she might have suffered a miscarriage, you should be seen by a physician. Blood tests for pregnancy can be used to confirm or disprove the suspicion. If she is having repeated miscarriages, there may be some previously unidentified problem. Or some kind of drug therapy may be prescribed to increase likelihood of pregnancy occurring.
I wholeheartedly agree with the people who have suggested a different doctor. Your doctor needs to be straightforward and answer your questions. Sometimes the answer is not one you want to hear, but it gives you a chance to examine your options.
Best of luck with your wife and your family.

I have MS too, but didn't have a problem going off of the meds to get pregnant. I did have major progression of my MS during my two pregnancies, especially the second one. But most women go into remission and do wonderfully. I've never heard of someone's period getting so heavy after going off the MS meds. Which injectible is she on?
I'd definately suggest she see a reproductive specialist about this to help you guys out. Perhaps she has something outside of the MS that is contributing to these problems.
Also, some docs feel that copaxone is safe to stay on during pregnancy. Other docs don't think any of the injectibles are safe for pregnancy.
If it were late-term miscarriages, I would suggest that you look into the possibility that she has Hughes Syndrome instead of MS. Still, it may be worth you doing a google search on it and reading up a bit.
Good luck with things. My MS progressed to the point of me using a walker & a wheelchair now, but I wouldn't trade my two little girls for the world.

Go get her checked. why didnt you save the tissue or whatever came out it may have been a clot but if she missed a period by chance she may have had a miscarraage. I had that happen to me 5 times. When i went in 4 of them time it was confrmed with the stuff that came out and/or test. the last time i didnt go in because a pro i knew what happened and knew they couldnt help at that point. You think she gets pergnant then get her off her feet and take care of her every need. I had a period for my last baby where i didnt have it 3 months which wasnt odd because my cycle wasnt right anyway. then i bleed very sever periods not to get graffic but it went to tampons and 2 pads in 3 mins. i mean bad then i found out at almost 7 months i was pregnant and i was shocked that was my 10th pregnancy and 5 live baby born. she came 1 week later at 2 pounds 8 oz. So you just never know. go see the dr if it wasnt long i mean within hours a or a day. maybe she did miscarry. if not she needs to be checked a clot like that with blood aint good sign!good luck hon and i will pray for her!

Bright blood and tissue do not necessarily mean a miscarriage has taken place, but if she does this again save what comes out in the form of tissue and take her to the ER immediately! They will do an exam and tell you if the tissue is fetus or just blood.

This really isn't the place to get your answer. Please see a specialist who will be able to diagnose the issue properly.
My gut guess as a layman? I think your wife is incapable of carrying a child without some sort of intervention, like a device that holds the cervix closed.
