Lately I have been feeling so extremely over whelmed with the future. I'm 14 so I know I have a while to decide what I want to do career wise. But, do I actually have plenty of time to decide? I used to think that I wanted to go into photography or graphic design but I'm now realizing I suck at it. I have no remarkable talents, theres nothing special or unique that I can do. Everyone else seems to have a great talent. I'm mean, not good with people, can't sing, and can't draw. I've always been extremely confident (overly confident) in myself. But, lately I feel like everyone is just so much better then me. And, that I'm just taking up space in the world. I don't even know what I'm actually asking. I think I'm more of venting. But, have any of you felt so talentless and over whelmed with the future at 14? Thanks in advance.

Ugh. Sorry. I meant to put "Is it normal to feel this over whelmed" for the title. As you can see, I can't type either.

Oh my god you are blowing it way out of proportion!!! I'm 14 and I am carefree when it comes to my career, because I know I will find it when the time comes. Chill out man!!! Enjoy the life you have now, because it's the best time of your life right now buddy!!

Yes, lots of us feel overwhelmed, regardless of age. The trick is to feel it less and less often.
Right now, you are feeling too much pressure to achieve in your future life, but you are young! Many people don't figure it out until several career paths have gone by.
The feelings you are describing hit me at about 16, and I was really worried, but I plunged in and survived just fine. Please also remember that the rest of the world is not more talented than you -- and don't watch American Idol or shows like that to compare yourself to. Those folks, like the sports stars, are just a few in 300,000,000 in the US.
Finally, if you are feeling bad at everything, you might be depressed. If you NEVER feel good, ask your doctor. Can you share your feelings with your parents or some other trusted adult?

You have a gift and it is INSIGHT.
Don't knock yourself, it IS a gift.
Some schools or employment centers have apptitude tests...they are not difficult, and it might give you some thoughts on your future goals.
Lots of people feel overwhelmed and talentless when it comes to the future. Age is not a factor.
You are on the right track looking for support. If you keep a journal it might be a safe place to vent your concerns. In the future, you will be proud of yourself for not giving up, and making something out of your life. Keep your chin up!

NOT AT 14!!!!
Chill out. Think about it again in about 3 years. For now, your job is to learn as much as you possibly can and to have fun. People twice your age are still looking for what they want to be when they grow up.
Your just going through a faze. There are several fazes in life. Not all are while your young.

Yes, it is normal! A tip: don't compare too much! You have talents, you are unique in a few ways, so are others. you make your future, with your will power, talents, efforts: not by dint of others' abilities or talents. Be confident, be assured, and carry on with your plans and efforts: good luck!

at 14, you have plenty of time to discover things. you will change your thinking and values many times over the next 4 years. my advice is to enjoy being young and having fun. it will all fall into place.

geez! it better be normal to feel overwhelmed, 'cause if its not im in trouble! yes you have time, so dont freak out. everyone is special and everyone is trying to be unique so whats so unique about that? you dont have to be great at anything just try to be good at something. at your age i would recommend school. then try college. dont be afraid to challenge yourself or make mistakes, everything has a lesson for us. you will find your groove eventually. :)
