I mean, don't they have any creativity? And they're always worse. Now Reba is doing "Because of You" by Kelly Clarkson and someone redid "Lips of an Angel" and it was horrid. It's like they think they need a country version to cater to the people who listen to country - what's wrong with them listening to pop too?

No offense to country music or anything - I like it pretty well - I'm just curious as to why they can't just do their own songs. You don't ever hear of a pop singer redoing a country song do you?

They've run out of ideas...it's not just country though..hip-hop, rap, and soul are remaking a lot of old songs...it happens with movies too. A lot of the movies that have came out latley have been re-makes.

Actually, Bon Jovi redid his "Who Says You Can't Go Home" utilizing Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles to effect - #1. Now the pop stars are crossing to country.
Jack Ingram's version of "Lips" is noise compared to Hinder. Anything Kelly Clarkson does turns me off. Reba's "Fancy" is an old song redone, as well as "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia". Those went to #1 with no complaints.
Kevin Sharp's "Nobody Knows" from 1996 I thought was better than the original by the Tony Rich Project.

They're just doing what pop music has already done, which was remake country songs in the first place. I don't have any examples, but it's happened.

You may think that is that case...however you fail to realize that MANY country songs were first written by country singers...look into it.
