You would use a lot of electricity with no benefit.

The air conditioner displaces heat - that is, it pulls the heated air from inside and exhausts it out the back. If the unit is in a window, it exhausts the hot air outside the house. If the unit is inside, it just puts it right back in the room.

Add to that the condensation formed when the coolant flows throught the pipes, and you add a bunch of water leaking inside.

All told, a pretty bad idea.

You would flood the area where you put the air conditioner for starters, and secondly the unit would run non-stop and your house would never cool down.

This would happen because a window unit takes the hot air from the house and discharges it to the outside while the somewhat cooler air outside is brought in and passed over cooling coils which condenses the humidity out in the form of water which either evaporates or drains out of the air conditioner's cabinet to the outside.

It would not cool the room because the heat from the running air conditioner needs vented outside. You could buy a "portable" air conditioner which requires only a small hose (like the vent from a clothes dryer) be vented outside. They're sold lots of places, but here are some from Sam's Club.

Your room would get hot. An air conditioner will only cool a room if it can move the heat and humidity out of the room.
