Walt Whitman wrote a great poem about this called "A Noiseless Patient Spider." In the poem, he described his words as weaving a web, and patiently he keeps putting out these ideas into words, until eventually the web of words is sufficient to capture the essence of his soul.

Let me explain. A single filament of the spider is not sufficient to catch anything, and so the spider has to keep working for a long time at it, constantly throwing out new filaments. I think this comparison is very fitting, because it is true that we will not get it right when we try to capture the essence of our soul in one attempt at putting it into words. It has to be filled with MANY attempts to bridge the gap between words (tangible) and the soul (intangible)!

Therefore, I think if we work hard enough at our writing, and write plenty, eventually we will be able to capture the true essence of what was in our heart... but it requires a lot of patience and many attempts to do this!

My Grandfather once told me that when the answer to a problem is solved, it will be a thing of beauty. I heard a quote from "Fuller" later on, that echoes this thought. Thus it is my understanding that if the words are not perfect, not poetic in their own way, they are flawed and can not be from the heart. This is why I will continue to study even outside the confines of school. To make my words perfect, poetic, wise.

I know I have done that a few times and also sometimes because you use complicated words that look like common words I know so I misinterpret them...There, happy now!??? LMAO

Yes they are.. a very near and dear friend to me can tell you that. I mean what I say and I say what I mean... nothing more and nothing less... I may have difficulties like others but I try and place anything that I do the love/like is from the heart and logic/common sense is from the brain.
