my boss has been talking about this recently for some reason and he said that its been slightly higher for females since the 70's.

Presumably more males are born than females worldwide, primarily because of countries that have instituted a one-child rule (China, and India I think). In those cultures, having a boy is preferable, so often girls are aborted or otherwise killed in infancy.

females. because they are the ones who give birth and the world would function better if we had 100 females and one male( since thats all it would take to get them pregnant) than if there were 100 males and one female.

It takes one of each to make a baby, so it is the same. More males are born than females.

I think that the gender births are probably pretty equal....then you have to factor in that the killing of female babies is still practiced in certain cultures.......and with the advancements in the medical fields I believe that we will see more and more male children.......
