Well, since the tragedy has occurred, the Bush made the department of Homeland security...which has helped out a lot. We have caught several terrorists in the US since 9/11.
Since 9/11, the FBI, NSA, and CIA have been working closer together.
We went to war against terrorism. We finally stepped up to the plate and stood up for ourselves. (The Clinton administration sat back and did nothing when the embassies in Africa were bombed and when the WTC got bombed in '93)
After 9/11, it seamed as if this country was so close...we all wanted to nab the terrorists. We hung flags in our yards and attended more church services...then, we started to lose interest.
I think America was fine with the war in Afghanistan and the war in Pakistan, but when we went into Iraq, we all became divided again.
There are actually satellite photos that were taken of Russian personnel in chemical suits that were driving a convoy of trucks carrying WMD's out of Iraq and into Iran. The US has put a lid on this because it would hurt our relations with the Russians, which aren't very good right now. (I wouldn't put this in your paper...I found this story out by a friend who read a book...the book was about WWIII and it was written by someone who has great ties to the Massad, NSA, CIA, FBI, and other secret organizations...but i don't know what the book is called)
Anyways, life will never be the same in America. There are sleeper cells in America right now that are waiting to strike. They will probably be more aggressive this time, though. They may use biologics or chemical weapons to kill innocent Americans.
It is sad that this country is so divided now. I guess the terrorists succeeded in de-unifying America. I just pray and hope the our FBI, CIA, and NSA will track these terrorist down and bring them to justice before they strike.
I hope that peace will come to this world soon.

The country is both more united and broken up by it. We felt a strong sense of nationalist pride after it, but the hate from people towards American Arabs makes up the bad part. If humans weren't prejudice by nature, then all that would have happened was us becoming united.
