80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Here is the really short version "LEARNING & TEACHING"
I know you probably heard all your life that if you think about yourself than you would be conceided, but its exactly the opposite because how can you help others if you are not pleased with yourself, So I would think the meaning of my life is me and the meaning of yours is you, because if I work on me and make decisions that favor me but don't hurt anyone elses feelings I'm making progress then I'm living out my meaning, then I can teach others what I have learned which would help them but it would also be for my self gratification. In other words to learn everything possible that could benefit me( learning is what your really doing all your life anyways), Learn what I want out of life, Learn how to master my sub-concious mind in order to pursuade my concious mind into making what I want into a reality
Also if your trying to get the best out of your life there is a book called "Maximum Achievement" by Brian Tracy Guranteed to change your life for the better

I don't really think that there is any one meaning to life.It is different for everybody. It depends on the person, circumstances, etc. We all make our own meaning of life. In my view, I think that a happy, optimistic person better understands his or her own meaning of life. It can never be explained or understood by others, because everybody has a different meaning of life. I could go on and on forever and it would never be understood.

For you to become Aware of something Bigger than your self, but to also realize Who you are and who you choose to BE in every MOMENT of here and NOW... and for you to be the greatest version of the grandest vision you ever had about your SELF and to live that by your example daily thusly, evolving...into a brighter, wiser, you...

Everybody wants to know what is the meaning of life, well we are only here for one reason, and that's to serve God and do his will. That's it bottom line.

You are responsible for your actions and your life. The meaning of your life is the meaning you give to it.
