For me, just too small. I know there must be other life forms out there. Maybe not as intelligent, just as intelligent, or more intelligent, but there must be something if planets are in solar systems, solar systems in galaxies, and billions of galaxies. Do you agree?

Yes, just the little piece of our solar system that I can see makes me feel insignificant and very amazed. Just to know that we are wondering this and somewhere out there, other creatures might be wondering the same thing. I can't imagine that our little speck in this universe would be all by itself in containing life. I would love to know what kind of life is out there. Is there anything like us or our earth animals? Just so many ideas. Too bad we can't know, that's why so many people watch Star Trek, it's fun to imagine.

I agree. The known universe is certainly overwhelming - we speak of hundreds and thousands of light years, but are totally incapable of fathoming these distances.
Our closest star is ONLY 4.2 light years away - and that's like right next door.
I doubt we will ever know for sure if other life exists unless we can come up with technology or discoveries that will enable us to travel great distances in a reasonable amount of time.

You may want to look into the "Drake Equation". As per the estimates taking into account many different variables, there should be at least several tens of thousands of civilizations JUST in the Milky Way Galaxy which are as advanced or more advanced than Earth...

Very small and humble indeed.

But you know what is the most troubling? Is that we can't fathom how big it is, and we will never visit it all. I mean, we barely went to the moon, and sent a few robot probes around other planets of our solar system.

All we really know is how little we know.

But that means there is a lot to learn, and we have to keep at it.

Not small at all. I believe each of us is unique - so in this whole huge universe of life forms we don't know about yet, galaxies being born, stars dying - there is only one me.
And that makes me feel part of the whole thing.

what you talkin about? so if there are many planets inside solar system, and there are many solar systems inside galaxy, and there are many many galaxies out there. that means the universe is... small?

and yes, if life happened here. and there are obviously many other Earths out there. life could be out there too. only because the universe is too vast, we havnt found it yet.

we are like a bunch of aunt living in Amazon jungle and we still havnt reach out other aunts out there yet.

I absolutely agree. The Bible has a lot to say about our universe regarding the matter, specifically, pertaining to "Hosts from the four corners of the world." We need not feel small or insignificant, though, because I believe we are all equally important to God. There's a song that says, "His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me." That's from Scripture that ask the question, "Does not a sparrow fall to the earth that He is not aware of? How much more important then are you?" This answer is based upon my personal beliefs and you can accept it or not, but I make no apologies for having them.

Yes I agree. The Universe makes me feel smaller than the Who that Horton heard.

It doesn't make me feel small at all. It fills me with wonder, both at the universe itself, and also at the fact that I have a brain which can begin to comprehend its majesty. When I'm out under the stars, I feel truly whole and at one with nature and the cosmos.

yes i agree 100% its amazing to think what is out there. especially recently about the new planet, and how theyre is water and stuff on there. its supposed to be really similar to earth, meaning life is prolly on there. ahhh yes i feel so small. just think of how big the city you live is in, your county, your state/country, your continent, the earth with all its oceans and countries-HUGGGGGGGE and then to think that theres the universe and beyond out there is just....mind boggling. it hurts to think about it hahaha :) but i love your question!
