My dad put my rabbits outside and they didn't have water. Around 1 hour later, my mom brought them in, but one of the rabbits was missing! (We found it under our barbeque by the way...) my other rabbit is 3 months old and was dehydrated and was shaking like crazy! My mo checked up on him not too long ago and he was sleeping. She wanted to wake him up cause he seriously needed to drink/eat. When she tried to wake him, he screamed so loud that i could hear it from upstairs! It didn't wanted to be touched and it dosen't want to eat/drink. WHAT DO I DO?!?!?

I have to say it does sound like "walking dandruff" which is a parasite infection on the rabbit which left untreated will cause it great distress. If you cannot afford the vet fees try the PDSA, they will look after it for a donation if you genuinely haven't got the money for it. It can be cured quite easily and relatively cheaply and a flea comb will help to comb some of it out but not to deal with the problem he needs medicine. Also change his bedding regularly and disinfect his Hutch properly as they lay eggs and these will hatch and reinfect him. Drops are available to put on his neck but you can only get them through a vet. Shop around too not all vets charge the same consultation fee.

It sounds like your rabbit was just scared. Your rabbit will shake like that when it is scared and it will also scream like that when it is scared. Actually, the reason it screamed is because it was let out. When rabbits are allowed to run loose and someone tries to catch them up, they will let out a scream because they are scared. Basically they feel like they are being prey.

My recommendation is not to have your dad let them loose anymore. Not having water for one hour won't kill them, just like if you don't have water for an hour it won't kill you.

If you have trouble picking your rabbit up, get a fishing dip net and use that to catch your rabbits. Yes, they will scream when you pick them up, but there's nothing wrong with them and you aren't really hurting them they are just scared.

So don't worry about rushing your rabbit to the vet. Just catch the rabbits up and throw a bowl of water and some feed in for them. If they are thirsty, they'll drink the water. You don't need to force the water down them.

There's a number of people on here that don't know a lot about rabbits and they over-react. If your rabbit is hungry or thirsty it will eat or drink unless it is sick. And I don't think your rabbit is sick.

Take your rabbits to the veterinarian immediately. Rabbits are extremely sensitive to the temperature. They should not be in extreme heat or cold. It sounds like your rabbits were over-heated especially since you found one under the barbecue. He/she was probably looking for a cool place to rest.

Your rabbit may have screamed because he is in extreme pain caused by dehydration. Take all your rabbits to the veterinarian immediately.

Best wishes.

It needs to go to the vet IMMEDIATELY. The poor thing is definitely dehydrated and possibly has heatstroke. It needs subcutaneous fluids or an IV, neither of which you can do yourself. Look up a 24-hour emergency vet in the phonebook under veterinarians.

I used to have a rabbit. If it seriously needs help and if it's an emergency you should take it to the local vet because they know what is best for it. If it's minor fill a bowl with water and set it by them, and make sure they stay hydrated and healthy. Glad I could help!

put dropplets of water on the noses of the rabbits. It will leach down to the mouth and creep in. Look at the noses. You will see the creases that lead to the upper lip. The water will use this route to get to the mouth.

Rabbits only scream when they are in a life or death situation. Get it to a vet.

You father must not be that considerate of living creatures then. I would just try to help them out as much as I could. Stay calm.

talk to your vet about Sub-q fluids that will get them hydrated and the screaming is probably becasue of the dehydration and the illness.
