How to tell will depend on the species of fish. See this website and look for the types of fish you have among the links on the right. If you look up each fish you have, there's a box near the bottom of each page with a summary of information that will tell you how to tell the genders apart: http://www.fishlore.com/ (if it's possible). This can only be determined for some fish after they're mature, so if the fish you have are recently purchased, you may not be able to tell them apart for another year or so - fish you see in pet stores are usually babies or juveniles.

totaly depends on the species some are nearly impossible to tell others you can tell by fin shape as with live bearers(guppies, platys mollies) often the dorsel fin is in a triangle on the female and kept clost to the body on the male, some it's a matter of coloration, other fish like the mida cichlid the males get a big hump on the head when they are mature so you can see it definatly depends apon what species of fish you are refering to..

relies upon on the fish. Many tropical fish, the female is rather undeniable and the mail is colourful or has an prolonged tail. many times the female is larger as she incorporates the eggs. For different fish like Goldfish that's rather difficult to tell.

It generally depends on the species... for some species the male has more coloration, but I have to know what type of fish your talking about to know.

It would be better to go to the question of determining the gender of your fishes later.

I will give you a piece of very urgent advice, if you really have convicts and goldfishes together thats a "bad" combination. Seperate them as soon as you can. :-)

Not knowing what species of fish you have makes it difficult to answer your question.

We need to know which types of fish, otherwise we can't tell.
