I think that the biggest misconception about "LOVE' is this: Does it even exist? I mean think about it...what is "love" really? Can it not be determined by ones own belief? Has not love been at the root of many negative things in this world? Also, who was the first person to call "love" "love?" Can it not be said that throughout time the emotion that we know as love has been thwarted and pounded into our hearts and minds? So who can really tell you what "love" is. One thing I do know is that to love ones' self is the MOST IMPORTANT kind of "love" out there, and it is probably the most rarest form, which is why love has been given a bad name. :-)

Love is only love when it flows. To mine that subject deeper, one has to get into quantum mechanics and quantum physics.
And I do mean must. To get a taste of the the fun happening now in that area, get " What The Bleep Do We Know?" the extended version and check it out. Exciting stuff to say the least. Then check out The Law of Attraction by Esther and Jerry Hicks and correlate. Joy to All.

for me love is knowing that without this person i will never feel this happy, fulfilled, humbled, needed, and comfortable with any other on earth there are really no words to describe love because i can say it but after i am done saying it i know i have left some out and i could go on and on and on because love is deep and indescribable when you cant say enough about the way that person makes you feel that is love .... does that make since?

The dictionary gives us 14 different ways to describe love and what it is as follows...
1. a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
2. a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.
3. sexual passion or desire.
4. a person toward whom love is felt; beloved person; sweetheart.
5. (used in direct address as a term of endearment, affection, or the like): Would you like to see a movie, love?
6. a love affair; an intensely amorous incident; amour.
7. sexual intercourse; copulation.
8. (initial capital letter) a personification of sexual affection, as Eros or Cupid.
9. affectionate concern for the well-being of others: the love of one's neighbor.
10. strong predilection, enthusiasm, or liking for anything: her love of books.
11. the object or thing so liked: The theater was her great love.
12. the benevolent affection of God for His creatures, or the reverent affection due from them to God.
13. Chiefly Tennis. a score of zero; nothing.
14. a word formerly used in communications to represent the letter L.
After reading all these things I am still at where I was before I looked it up...You cant define love. My main reason is this "Love is an opinion" It changes from person to person ranging on how they felt at that moment! Or that year! Or that month! It depends but overall its a sense of how stongly you feel for someone or something!

Love is a feeling of affection.
Anyone who defines love in terms of actions or behaviour is in for a very unhappy life. You will be hurt over and over and over. It is a choice to believe what we do on the topic of love.

Love is a connection between two people that cannot be explained with logic or science. It is a want for the person that transcends all bounds.

I'm not sure of this theory...
But I believe it is possible that love COULD BE that higher force that we all are looking for.
Think of it this way:
That little starving kid in Africa that you think almost no one knows.
You love someone...
That loves someone else...
That loves someone else...
That loves someone else, and this could go on like A MILLION times but eventually the line will end.
That person you love started a line of many people, and atleast ONE of those people love that starving kid in Africa.
Get what I am saying?
-SARUKO-
p.s. That's just my take.

I find that what distinguishes love - all kinds I've felt, romantic, worshipful, friendly, undirected, self etc etc - is that it is the one emotion that gives me an unexplainable / irreducible feeling of transcendence - of being beyond ego, time, space etc.
