Well, future offenders are many times past offenders. At the very least it would keep them from ever molesting a child again. I personally don´t believe there is any cure for that sickness.

If a child molester were executed, he wouldn't molest any more children. But that would be true if he were sentenced to life in prison too.
It is my feeling that few people would support the death penalty for crimes other than murder.
This hasn't always been so. In 1960, Caryl Chessman was executed in California; his crimes were robbery, kidnapping and rape. No homicides.
In any case, since the death penalty is so rarely applied, it probably doesn't serve as a great deterrent to most criminals.
The best deterrent is probably the assurance of being caught and punished, whatever the punishment may be. As long as most molestations are not prosecuted, molesters will take the chance.

I don't support the death penalty...
But I do believe that the justice system in this country needs to step up jail time for criminals who molest children.
I also think that the justice system in this country is a joke...I mean Dr. Kevorkian just got let out and he killed a lot of people.
Murderers are still free but yet we give the death penalty to some innocent people...
I hope and pray that someday there will be no crime in this world.
I wish we could all just live in peace.

The death penalty is simply the appropiate penatly for such a heinous crime. Child molesters are vermin and serve no purpose. It cannot be undone what they have done but if justice is truly to be served then the death sentence is the proper penalty. By the way, you can throw drug dealers and terrorist in the scumbag ring and execute them all.

In VIC Australia 'our' child molesters have their own jail (Fulham). They do easy time ... they get out ... they re offend. Something needs to be done to stop this cycle, bring in the Death Penalty I say, It wont stop the first offenses but it will sure as hell prevent them re offending. The world needs to take crimes against children more seriously

I think that abolishing (cancelling, refraining from use of...) this penalty altogether is more of a solution.
The death penalty exacerbates criminal activity that is punished differently. Frustration is probably one of the causes of crime and the kind of hierarchy that is formed by the various penalties only heightens it.
Capital punishment does not go along with "love your neighbor as yourself".

It would probably wipe out most of the population of Texas as most children are molested by a family member or family friend and is much more common than people suppose.

I watched a program the other night about what really happens inside jails. Children abusers are considered the worst scum bags in the jail system.
The other prisonners love to take care of the pedophiles in jails. I think the best punishment for pedophiles is to be put in jails with non pedophile prisonners.
To me, that is the best justice for them. They will get a taste of their own medicine. That's what they deserve.
