I think the carrier might be safer since the ride might be bumpy and Baby could get thrown around in her cage. Yes, the cage is a familiar to her, but I honestly think that a carrier would be safer. Rabbist also have a tendency to like to be in closed environments since they like to burrow.

Also keep in the mind the temperature in the truck. Rabbits are extremely sensitive to temperature. They should not be in extreme heat or cold. Make sure you have water and food for your rabbit. If possible, pet and talk to your bunny during the trip to reassure her that she is safe. If she gets stressed from the traveling, she could either hurt herself or have a heart attack.

As a veterinarian for some advice before your trip.

Best wishes.

For short trips, rabbit carriers are usually best. If the rabbit is going to be caged overnight, I recommend the regular size cage. Just make sure your rabbit doesn't get overheated or have cold wind blowing on it. You never mentioned where it is going to be riding in the truck.

Bluebird is right about the topper and keeping her in the truck. I agree with bluebird on all that was said in that response.

It doesn't really matter so much if the cage is large or small as far as them getting bumped around. They'll lay down during the trip anyhow.

i say take her in the carrier...but make sure she has a lot of room. put a couple of carrots or other vegetable in the carrier with her to make her feel comfortable. she should be fine..if she starts doing unusual things like shaking. hold her for a while until she gets used to the ride. if she isn't eating give her a couple of minutes to try to eat then if she still isn't eating hand-feed her. she will be a little nervous because its the first time to travel far in a car..and she is in a different place too...good luck with her and be extremely careful!

If possible use the carrying cage used to haul show rabbits,
keep her in the truck cab with you ,but do not carry her in the back of an open bed truck.
If you have a truck topper and have good air flow. To keep her cool, freeze some bottles of water and place them in the cage with her.
Take her out at night to reassure her.
Have a safe trip.

use the carrier the cage is too big for travel and the carrier will keep her contained so that she doesn't thrash on turns and bumps where she could break her back, tha carrier is designed to keep her safe and in one place when you stop for the night take her out so that she can run around and that will be good

Use the carrier....but make sure to have something like the igloos or wooden boxes they make for rabbits to hide in... this way the bunny will feel safe and hopefully not get as stressed out, becareful rabbits to get very stressed very easily.

It relies upon on the automobile trip. An hour ought to be high-quality. extra that an hour would be annoying and sickening for the rabbit. i'd recommend having a cage at the two your homes and utilising a cat service or laundry basket interior the automobile and placed towels and blankets so they experience delicate.

i suggest making your baby as happy as possible and that means put her in the cage. my bunny HATES with a capital H his carier! he scratches around, and sheds and panic. and thats 15 minutes waiting for the vet to check him! make frequeant stops to check her water, food, hay, and calm her down. like at every 4 rest stops. i hope thats helpful!
