Because they've had to do it since they were babes. They never had an easy life as children. Nobody coddled them, or something was either very wrong or very lacking. Which is why they become so successful later in life. They learn to survive on their own without the nuturing others take for granted. If you have a Capricorn that opens up to you, is willing to trust you, you must be very special indeed. Hang onto them. For that is an honor. And you either have a friend or mate for life. Just be patient with that person, and you won't regret it. The best years of their life come after the age of 40. They get younger as the age, as if to be rewarded for all the hardship they've endured. And when everybody they went to high school with seems to have aged horribly, they seem to get younger and look younger each passing year. They are one of the few signs that actually die of old age, living long enough to see everyone that's made their lives hurtful......... oh well, they also forgive. Another reason they live so long!

From my point of view, we experience the burning heat of a "capricorn era" and, as a result to that, most capricorns feel at home. They are well adapted to their prime time and they know it.
If you're not feeling me, just look by yourself ---> sentimentalist soaps, medias being used like a giant theatre, physical beauty is important, we share our feelings, hard work is preached by most big boys, as is tolerance, open mindedness, elite...
It's clear like crystal. Our present time SMELLS capricorn. And, because I am a so superior individual (read: a capricorn), I can explain that with astronomic arguments.
First, from 1990 and until the late 90s, 3 of the "papa planets" were in capricorn. Therefore ALL individuals born between 1990 and 2000 have capricorn on their chart. That, which means: "an entire generation of individuals remotely think like capricorns, WANT just what capricorns want, and ask for that to happen".
On a larger scale, it means that the younger part of mankind ends up promoting the capricorn themes as the new social standards.
Hence, capricorns today are certainly better adapted to human condiction than any other sign. That's a result of democracy in a time when planets give the edge to the capricorns!
... Now I may just have pointed out one of democracy's capital weakness. But it doesn't matter.
What I mean is that capricorns perhaps don't really own permanently that "Goat Guile". Next, it will be the aquarius guys who will act like machos. (Oh no!!! that means...anarchy?! What will we do? :P). And yes, that could well mean "adios, capitalism".

I think everyone who answered your question is correct. I don't know About roy's answer, I'm not very well read in astronomy. But as far as my POV, being a Capricorn, I deal with a constant inner conflict. I feel that I am an extremely intelligent person, I've got the perfect answer for everything, and if someone doesn't understand my point, it's their fault because they can't grasp my intellect. So at times I can become condescending because I know whats right and you just don't get it.
Having to prove myself is a result of ********* and insecurity. To me nothing is better in life as when someone recognizes my "genius".
This is hard for a Capricorn to deal with because we are aware that we're coming off as condescending, but many times our ego keeps us from stopping.
I hope this helps. Much Love.

I'm sure I answered this somewhere else, but I'll go again hehe... Capricorns can suffer from a lack of self confidence, causing them to be rather inhibited and always needing to be seen to be doing the right thing in the right way at the right time. They can also be seriously ambitious and this drives them to prove they can do things, they need to prove it to themselves and not just others.

Its said that Capricorns feel that they have been diadvantaged and having it tough in life(especially in the beginning of their lives) so they keep climbing like their mountain goat symbol. Climbing to the top(success). Thats why they tend to be "try hard" in a lot of ways because they are said to always be climbing(working hard).

Im a Cap....and I'll tell you I think I'm worthless, always blaming myself....but secretly deep down inside I know I'm the man....been this way my whole my life...I always have to prove someone or myself wrong....I CAN do it.....But when it comes to others....I always think I'm not good enough....and I tend to get walked on all over for it....At times I thought it was humility, but now I realize that its part of my nature....The downside is that I tend to be overly aggressive and protective of those I admire and love...which makes me come on very very strong.....but deep down...I wish no ill will on anyone

They can be driven to perfectionism and their conservative streak can cause them to be servile when on the bottom rung of the ladder.
