well i need a formula or something to do this world problem..

1. Find the length of a rectangle if its area 64 and its width is 4.

2. The perimeter of a rectangle is 350. Find the length if the width is 41.

3. If a man walks five miles in one hour, how many miles will he walk in one hour, how many miles will he walk in one house, twelve minutes? << i dont get that problem..

Im having another problem... im tryin to see did do it right...

If one angle of a triangle is two times the smallest angle, and the largest angle is three times as large as the smallest angle, find the number of degrees in the smallest angle.

Okay do u use the this formula:
Angle A + Angle b + Angle C = 180 ?

1. l*w=a 64/4=
2. 2w+2l=p 2(41)*2l=350 (solve for l)
3. 5mph in one hour: 5 miles
in one hour & 12 minutes: multiply 5 times 72/60 (72/60 is the same as 1 and 12/60)
4.yes, you use that formula. then you have to use: B=2A and C=3A
so then...A+2A+3A=180. then find A and then you can find B and C.

1. Area of a rectangle=LW
So fill what you know
4*L=64

Divide by 4
L= 16

2. Perimeter= 2L+2W

2L+2*41=350
2L+82=350
2L=268
L=134

3. So he walks 5 mph. To figure out how many miles he walks in 1 hour 12 minutes, plug it into the formula RT=D (rate*time=distance)
5*(72/60)=D (it's 72/60 because we want it all in hours not minutes)

5*(6/5)=6

So it's 6 miles

These are "tough" questions?

Area (rectangle) = length x width
64 = length x 4
length = 64/4
length = 16.

Perimeter = 2 x width + 2 x height
350 = 2 x width + 2 x 41
2 x width = 350 - 82
width = 268 / 2
width = 134

man walks 5 miles/hour.
how far has he walked after 1.2 hours?
1.2 hours x 5 miles/hour = 6 miles.

area of rectangle= length times width
so 64/4= 16

perimeter of a rectangle= 2(length) + 2(width)
350=2(41)+2(x) x=134

well since the man walks 5 miles per hour, he walks 5 miles every 60 minutes. one hour, twelve minutes is 72 minutes. since he walks 1 mile every 12 minutes, he walks 6 miles every one hour, 12 minutes

1.
area = length * width
64 = 4x
4x = 64
x = 16

2.
Perimeter of rectangle = 2L + 2W

350 = 2L + 2*41

2L = 350 - 82

L = 134

3.
Distance = rate * time

Distance = 5 miles/hour * 1 hour

Distance = 5 miles

You said one house, 12 minutes. I assume you meant 1 hour 12 minutes or 6/5 hours.

Since 1:12 minutes is 6/5 of hour

Distance = 5 miles/hour * 6/5 hour

Distance = (30/5) miles

Distance = 6 miles
.

1. 4x=64. x= 16

2. 2(41) + 2x= 350. x= 134

3. If he walks 5 mph, then its one mile every 12 mins, so, in one hour, its 5, in one hour and 12 mins, its 6.

ryan, your number 2 is wrong, you need to divide the 81 by 2 also, if you want to go that route.

L x 4=64
64/4=L
L=16

2(41) + 2x=350
82+2x=350
82+x=175
x=93

walks 5 miles in 1 hour. in one house?, 12 minutes?=1 mile...60min/12min=5....in 12 mins he walks 1 mile
