Best outdoor plants to buy for deck with a lot of direct sun?

I have a deck that has no shade whatsoever. Can someone let me know what type of plants I can use for outdoor planting?

Plant marigolds. Not only are they pretty, they give off a natural mosquito repellant!

roses in patio pots of every color they are beautifull they sell them at home depot. good luck and happy gardening !!
