How do you use pokemon? for example: to crush boulders to get to the next town?? i hope this isnt confusing, please help!!

You teach the pokemon Rock smash that is usable once u get the 1st gym badge from roark the Rock

You have to have both the HM to teach the skill, and the Badge that allows you to teach it to your pokemon. The HM you're talking about is Rock Smash. I'm not sure which Badge it is, though. Check out GameFAQs.com for guides for both Diamond and Pearl. There are also boards where you can ask questions to other players, and guides that have the locations of all the items/pokemon/TMs/HMs. It will help you a lot!

Get yourself a couple of bibarels because they can learn just about every HM. Teach them the necessary moves and then just walk up to the obsticle in your way (ie: shrub, bolder, water) and touch it. They'll take care of the rest. If that's too much then I'd suggest checking out the manual or even an f.a.q. site.

First you need to get the Hidden Machine (HM) Rock Smash. You will find it on the way to Orebourgh city, once you enter the cave the first guy you see will give you the HM. To use rock smash on the open field, you need to get a gym badge.

First,go in front of the boulder your smashing.Then press ''A'' in your DS.Then it will automatically smash it.
